Okay, so I’ve been seeing this necklace everywhere lately, right? It’s the one Charli XCX has been rocking, and it’s, like, super cool and edgy. I’m not usually one to jump on trends, but this one got me. So, I decided I had to have it. I went on a mission to figure out how to make my own version.
First, I spent hours looking at pictures of Charli wearing the necklace. I zoomed in, took screenshots, the whole nine yards. I noticed it’s kind of a mix of different charms and pendants, giving it this unique, kind of DIY vibe. Seems like she’s got a thing for mixing and matching, you know? Kinda like how she mixes up music genres.
Next, I hit up a bunch of stores. I went to craft stores, thrift shops, even some random boutiques. I was looking for anything that caught my eye – chains, charms, beads, you name it. I found some cool stuff, some safety pins, some random bits and bobs that I thought would look good together.
My Materials
- Different types of chains – silver, gold, some thick, some thin.
- A bunch of charms – a banana, some stars, a heart, whatever I could find.
- Pliers and jump rings – to put everything together, had to get my hands dirty.
- Safety pins – because Charli seems to have some on hers, right.
Then came the fun part – putting it all together. I laid everything out on my table and started experimenting. I attached charms to chains, mixed different chain styles, and even added some safety pins for that extra punk touch. It was a lot of trial and error. Seriously, I spent a good few hours just fiddling around until I got something that felt right.
I ended up with something pretty unique, inspired by Charli’s style but totally my own. It’s got this cool, personalized feel, like I poured a bit of myself into it, you know? It is not perfect, but I like it. It is just a simple necklace with some of my favorite charms. It is not very fancy but it is my necklace.
