Back of High Heels Style: Your Ultimate Guide

Today, I wanna talk about the back of high heels. You know, that part that can make or break your whole experience with heels. So, let’s get into it!

Back of High Heels Style: Your Ultimate Guide

First off, I remember this one time I bought these gorgeous stilettos. Looked amazing, but after an hour, my heels were killing me! It turns out, the back was just too stiff. No give whatsoever. I tried to get used to them a lot of times, even when I went out to party with my friends, but I failed in the end. So, the first thing I do now is check how the back of the heel feels. I give it a little press, see if it’s too rigid or if it has some flexibility.

Material Matters

The material makes a huge difference. I’ve had heels with leather backs that softened up over time. That’s a win!

  • They start a bit snug but end up fitting like a glove.

But some synthetic materials? Forget about it. They stay hard and unforgiving. I once had a pair with this shiny, plastic-like back, and boy, did they give me blisters. Never again!

Height and Shape

Now, let’s talk height. I used to think the higher, the better. Right? Wrong! I realized that around 3-4 inches is my sweet spot. It seems that this is a data that most people can accept. Anything taller, and the angle just puts too much pressure on the back of my foot. But with low heels, I feel like I don’t get any complications when I go out or anything. Also, the shape of the heel itself matters. I tried on a pair of spool heels once. You know, the ones that flare out at the bottom? The higher ones were a nightmare. They looked like stilettos but felt even worse. It’s like they were designed to torture the back of your heel.

Padding is Key

Padding, my friends, is a lifesaver. I found a pair of heels once that had this amazing cushioned back. I wore those things for hours, no problem! Nowadays, I always look for that extra bit of padding. Sometimes I even add those little gel cushions myself.

  • Makes a world of difference, I tell ya!

Trying Them On

And of course, you gotta try them on. But don’t just stand there. Walk around! I do this thing where I walk, then stop, and really focus on how the back of the heel feels against my foot.

  • Is it rubbing?
  • Is it digging in?

If it is, I put them back. Not worth the pain later. One time, I was so excited about a pair that I ignored a little bit of discomfort. Big mistake! Ended up with the worst blisters of my life.

So, there you have it. My two cents on the back of high heels. Hope this helps you find your perfect, pain-free pair! Remember, it’s all about flexibility, material, height, padding, and a good walk test. Happy heel hunting!
