Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea for a while now – creating a cover for Vogue, you know, just for fun. And let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride. I decided to go with a “Vogue Magazine Cover 2024” theme because, why not, right? It’s all about staying ahead of the curve. Let me share my experience with you guys.
First off, I started by looking at some of the actual Vogue covers from this year. I noticed that the September issue is always a big deal, I read somewhere that it’s the biggest one traditionally! So, I started with sketching a few ideas, thinking about what kind of image would really pop. Then I remembered that the December 2024 issue of Vogue got a release party and was orchestrated by Marc Jacobs. That’s amazing, isn’t it?
I spent hours browsing through photos. And then there was this one article about Sienna Miller on the Winter 2024 cover, she’s all radiant and stuff. And I read another article saying that Bella Hadid will be returning to the cover of Vogue Italia, which was quite surprising. These gave me a clearer picture of what kind of person should be on my cover.
Then I picked a bunch of photos that I thought could work. It was tough, really tough. I was going for something that screams “2024”, but also has that timeless Vogue elegance. I read an interesting article about the digital cover of Vogue’s December 2024 issue. The models posed in a mix of classic-feeling pieces, all priced between $7 and $1,000. It seems that high style is entering a pragmatic new mode. I think I need to consider this point.
After that, I fired up my computer and started playing around with different layouts. Moving things here, resizing there, changing fonts a million times. The fonts were a whole other story, by the way. I wanted something bold but not too loud, you know? I also learned that the American and British Vogue have teamed up once again to share a cover star for their May 2024 issue. I guess I can also have a try.
Then came the editing. Oh boy, the editing. I was tweaking colors, adjusting brightness, and trying to make everything look just right. I did some research and found that Vogue has a predominantly female readership and is best suited for advertisers targeting affluent fashion and beauty enthusiasts. I might need to do more research about these.
Finally, after a lot of trial and error, I had something I was pretty happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it felt like my own little piece of art. I even added the “Vogue 2024” logo at the top, just to make it look official.
