Okay, so, I’ve always been kind of confused about whether I should wear silver or gold jewelry. I mean, they both look pretty, but I wanted to figure out which one actually looks better on me, you know?

So, I did a little experiment. First, I started looking at my skin and the tones. I’ve heard people talk about “undertones” before, like, are you “cool” or “warm”? Honestly, I couldn’t really tell at first. It’s not like my skin is straight-up pink or yellow!
Then I went through my jewelry box. I grabbed all my silver pieces and tried them on one by one. I had a few silver necklaces, some earrings, and a couple of bracelets. I stood in front of the mirror and just looked at how the silver looked against my skin. It seemed okay, I guess. Nothing too crazy.
Next, I did the same thing with my gold jewelry. I don’t have as much gold stuff, mostly because it’s usually more expensive, haha. But I put on what I had – a gold chain, some hoops, and a ring. I tried to look at it with fresh eyes, like I was seeing it for the first time.
Here’s where it got interesting. When I looked at the gold against my skin, something just clicked. It made my skin look, like, healthier? I can say it’s a glow. I don’t know how to explain it, but the gold just seemed to complement my skin tone better than the silver did.
- Tried on silver: Looked okay, nothing special.
- Tried on gold: Made my skin look brighter, more alive.
I spent some time wearing both the silver and the gold jewelry on different days. I even asked a few friends for their opinions, without telling them what I was testing, of course. And guess what? Most of them said the gold looked better on me too!
My Conclusion
So, from my little experiment, I figured out that I’m probably someone with “warm” undertones. And gold jewelry seems to be my jam! Now, this isn’t a hard and fast rule or anything. Maybe some silver pieces would look great on me too, depending on the style. But for now, I’m leaning towards gold. It just makes me feel more… radiant, I guess. And that’s what matters, right?
It was a fun little experiment, and it definitely helped me feel more confident about choosing jewelry. If you’re not sure which metal looks best on you, I totally recommend trying something similar. Just try on different pieces and see what makes you feel good!
