Using Shampoo to Get Green Out of Hair, Tips to Restore Your Natural Color

Okay, so, picture this: I recently took a dip in the pool, and my blonde hair decided to take on a lovely shade of green. Yeah, not exactly the look I was going for. So, I went on a mission to fix it, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure.

Using Shampoo to Get Green Out of Hair, Tips to Restore Your Natural Color

First things first, I hopped online to do some digging. I mean, who hasn’t turned to the internet for a quick fix, right? Anyway, I stumbled upon a couple of ideas, and they seemed pretty harmless, so I figured, why not give them a shot?

Attempt 1: Baking Soda Magic

  • Mixing: I grabbed some baking soda from the kitchen – you know, the stuff you use for baking or whatever – and mixed it with my regular shampoo. About a tablespoon, I think? I just kind of eyeballed it.
  • Washing: Then I hopped in the shower and washed my hair with this concoction. I made sure to really massage it into my hair, paying extra attention to the green parts. It felt kind of weird, all gritty and stuff, but I was determined to get rid of that green.
  • Waiting: I left it in for a few minutes.
  • Rinsing: I rinsed it out thoroughly.

Honestly, after this, I didn’t see a huge difference. My hair felt a bit stripped, and the green was still there, just maybe a bit lighter. So, that wasn’t the miracle cure I was hoping for.

Attempt 2: The Pink Toning Conditioner

  • Shampooing: I shampooed my hair like normal.
  • Applying: Then, I grabbed this pink toning conditioner I found online. After my first attempt, I applied it to my wet hair, making sure it was evenly distributed.
  • Waiting: I waited for about 2-3 minutes, as the instructions suggested.
  • Rinsing and Drying: Finally, I rinsed it out and dried my hair.

When my hair was dry, I noticed that the green was almost gone. It’s like the pink neutralized it or something. I was pretty stoked! It wasn’t perfect, but it was way better than before.

I also read about using natural stuff like henna, chamomile, or even coffee, but I was too impatient for all that. Who wants to wait for weeks, right? Besides, the idea of putting coffee in my hair sounded kind of messy, and I’m not a big fan of the smell of henna.

So, yeah, that’s my story of how I tackled the green hair situation. It wasn’t easy, and there were a few bumps along the way, but I got there in the end. Now I know what to do next time I accidentally turn my hair into a green mess! And hey, if you’re dealing with something similar, maybe give these methods a try. Just don’t expect miracles, okay? It’s all about trial and error.
