Balenciaga Uggs, them shoes, huh, everyone talking about ’em. Fancy name, Balenciaga. Sounds like a mouthful of somethin’ or other. But I seen ’em, them Uggs. They some kinda boots, look like somethin’ a sheep might wear itself. All fuzzy and big. People payin’ good money for ’em, too. More money than I ever seen for a pair of shoes!
Now, me, I like my shoes simple. Somethin’ I can slip on, go feed the chickens, you know? Don’t need nothin’ fancy. But these Balenciaga Uggs, they got people all riled up. They say they’re comfy. Well, I reckon they better be, for that price. Could buy a whole flock of chickens for what they cost, I bet.
I seen them young folks wearin’ ’em with them tight pants, them jeans. Tuck ’em right in the boots. Looks kinda funny to me, but they seem to like it. Then they got them big ol’ sweaters on, look like they’re drownin’ in ’em. But they say it’s fashion. Fashion! Back in my day, we just wore what kept us warm. These Balenciaga Ugg boots, I guess they do keep you warm. Sheep wool and all that. So maybe that’s part of it. Keep your feet warm, look like you got money, is that it? They some kinda status, I guess.

They got all kinds of these Balenciaga shoes now, ain’t just them Uggs. I saw some the other day, looked like somethin’ you’d wear to go runnin’. Big and clunky lookin’. They call ’em “Triple S” somethin’. Ugly, I heard someone say. Ugly but people buyin’ ’em, that’s for sure. They call it a fashion trend. I seen that word, “trend,” a lot when they talkin’ about them Balenciagas. I don’t know what it is, exactly. This trend thing. Just mean a lot of people wearin’ the same thing, I reckon.
And them young girls, they wearin’ ’em too, these Balenciaga shoes. With them dresses and skirts, even. Boots and a dress, who’d a thought? But they do it. They put pictures of themselves on that internet thing, all dressed up in their Balenciaga Uggs. And lots of folks look at ’em, and then they want a pair, too. That’s how it goes, I guess. Someone sees somethin’, they want it. Monkey see, monkey do.
They even got these Balenciaga shoes look like socks, they do. No laces, nothin’. Just slip ’em on like a sock. “Speed trainers” or somethin’ like that. They say you can dress ’em up or down. I don’t know what that means, really. Wear ’em with a fancy dress or wear ’em with them jeans, I suppose. Just somethin’ to put on your feet, but cost a fortune. They all about style, they say. How you wear ’em, is what matters. But ain’t no style worth that much money, I say.
I seen these shoes, these Balenciaga Uggs and all them others, on that Pinterest thing, too. All kinds of pictures of people wearin’ ’em. They call it inspiration. They get ideas. New ways to wear old things, like Uggs. Ugg boots, Ugg slides, Ugg slippers. People been wearin’ Uggs a long time. But now they put that Balenciaga name on ’em, and they somethin’ special, I guess. They even got celebrities wearin’ ’em. Famous people, you know. Rich folks. They can afford it, that’s for sure.
They got these other Balenciaga shoes, too. Sneakers, they call ’em. And boots, not just them Ugg ones. And flats, even. Somethin’ for everyone, I suppose. If you got the money, that is. Me, I’ll stick to my old shoes. They might not be fancy, but they get the job done. And they don’t cost an arm and a leg.
These young folks, they say these Balenciaga Uggs are basic, or somethin’. Call ’em cliche, whatever that means. Just means everyone’s wearin’ ’em, I guess. Like I said, monkey see, monkey do. But they still wearin’ ’em, so they must like ’em. Even if they are expensive. And ugly. And look like somethin’ a sheep would wear. I guess beauty’s in the eye of the beholder, like they say. Or maybe it is just about that Balenciaga name. I do not know, but if you want some, you better have a lot of money.
