Starting the Shoe Hunt
Woke up needing new kicks after seeing Saks advertising Bottega Veneta’s seasonal collection. Grabbed coffee, plopped on the couch with my laptop, and typed in the site. Man, the new rubber sole Chelsea boots popped first – exactly what I wanted.
Filtering Nightmare
Clicked the color filter menu, right? Total mess. Eight different shades called “beige” – who names these? Scrolled through all thumbnails twice, squinting at my screen. Found three possibilities:
- Something like desert sand but called “Fog”
- This weird pinky taupe labeled “Dust”
- Actual normal brown tagged “Cinnamon”
Size Roulette
Picked the Cinnamon boots, hit size 10. Instantly got the dreaded red “out of stock”. Tried size 10.5 – same damn message. Refreshed three times like an idiot before dropping to size 9.5. Finally added to cart, crossing fingers they won’t crush my toes.
Checkout Circus
Payment page asked for my ancient Saks card points I forgot existed. Typed the number wrong twice, got locked out for ten annoying minutes. Used regular credit card instead, smashed the express shipping option because I’m impatient. Got confirmation email before I even closed my browser.
Waiting Game & Thoughts
Tracked that package like a hawk for four days. When UPS came, ripped open the box like Christmas morning. Good news first: color looked even better in real life. Bad news: tight as hell on my right foot. Probably returning these unless they magically stretch. Moral? Always order two sizes when Saks says inventory is low – and never trust color names.
