Getting the Urge for Bargains
Woke up this morning scrolling my phone feeling that itch – you know, the gotta-hunt-for-deals feeling. Grabbed my beat-up tote bag and car keys yelling “Ross Dress for Less day!” at my cat Mittens. Decided to hit that big Ontario location off Fourth Street since parking’s easier there.

Stalking the Discount Aisles
Walked straight to clearance racks first – always start there! Got shoulder-deep in those messy clothing piles like I was digging for gold. Found this wild floral blouse originally $45 marked down to $7.99 with bright pink clearance sticker screaming my name.
- Checked every single price tag under proper lighting – some stickers were half torn
- Ran my fingers along seams looking for defects (found one sweater with loose thread – instant pass)
- Scanned menswear section for my brother – scored graphic tees for $4 each
The Checkout Surprise
Got in line holding my treasure pile when the lady behind me tapped my shoulder. She whispered “Check end caps near pharmacy aisle honey!” Dashed over and found Easter candy at 90% off – giant chocolate bunnies for 39 cents each. Bought eight because obviously.
Final Haul & Reality Check
At register, watched items ring up holding my breath. Cashier scanned a pair of jeans twice – had to speak up politely. Total damage: $38.17 for 2 tops, 3 tees, leggings and candy mountain. Felt like I robbed the place! Later realized those “designer” socks I bought were actually irregulars – one’s looser than the other. Oh well, win some lose some.
