How to choose your Catwoman makeup? A simple guide to help you get the best look!

Alright, so I decided to tackle this Catwoman makeup thing. Not because I’m a pro or anything, but I saw some pictures and thought, “Hey, I could probably pull that off for a bit of fun.” It’s always good to try new stuff, right? So, this is how my little experiment went down.

Getting the Tools Ready

First things first, I had to rummage through my makeup collection. I wasn’t about to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff for this. I figured my existing kit would do the trick. I pulled out:

  • My darkest black eyeliner, the one that’s supposed to be super precise.
  • A palette with some good dark eyeshadows – blacks, greys, maybe a dark brown.
  • Foundation and concealer, the usual base stuff.
  • An eyebrow pencil or powder.
  • And a bold lipstick, probably red or a very dark nude.

Nothing too fancy, just the basics I thought would work for that sleek, kinda dangerous look.

Laying the Groundwork

I started by just doing my base makeup like I normally would. A good even layer of foundation, covered up any blemishes with concealer. You know, create a clean canvas. Didn’t want my Catwoman to have tired eyes from the get-go, even if she’s supposed to be out all night.

The Eyes – This is Where it Gets Real

Okay, this is the main event for Catwoman. It’s all about those dramatic, feline eyes. I began with the eyeliner. Man, getting that sharp, winged look is always a bit of a gamble. I aimed for a really dramatic flick, extending quite far out and upwards. Took a couple of tries, and let me tell you, cotton swabs and makeup remover were my best friends for a solid ten minutes. Patience, that’s the key, or so I kept telling myself.

Once the liner was somewhat symmetrical – and I use “symmetrical” loosely – I moved onto eyeshadow. I packed on a dark grey or black eyeshadow onto the lid, really building up the intensity. Then I took a blending brush and just smoked it all out, blending upwards and outwards, following the line of the wing. The goal was to make it look sultry and a bit mysterious, not like I’d just got punched in both eyes. A little bit of shimmer right in the inner corner can be nice, but I skipped it this time, wanted to keep it pretty matte and intense.

Defining the Brows and Face

With the eyes being so strong, the brows needed to match that energy. I filled mine in, making them a bit darker and more defined than usual, with a nice arch. Catwoman needs brows that mean business, right?

I also did a bit of contouring. Nothing too crazy, but just enough to sculpt the cheekbones and jawline a little, give that chiseled look. A bit of highlight on the high points of the face, but again, kept it subtle because the eyes were doing all the talking.

The Lips

For the lips, I debated between a classic red and a super dark, almost black shade. I ended up going for a deep, bold red. It felt classic Catwoman. Made sure the application was crisp. A messy Catwoman lip just wouldn’t do.

Final Touches and Thoughts

After all that, I took a step back. It wasn’t movie-set perfect, not by a long shot. My winged liner probably had distant cousins rather than being identical twins. But you know what? It looked like Catwoman. It had the vibe. The dark, intense eyes, the bold lip – it all came together.

What I learned? Good eyeliner is crucial, and having a steady hand helps, which I’m still working on. Blending the eyeshadow is also super important to avoid it looking too harsh. It took a bit longer than I thought, mostly fussing with the eyeliner. But overall, it was a fun process. I felt pretty cool afterwards, not gonna lie. It’s amazing what a bit of makeup can do to change your whole feel. So yeah, that was my little adventure into becoming Catwoman for a bit. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a dramatic look!
