Best Raven Symone hairstyles (See her most iconic and amazing hair looks over the years now)

Alright, so the other day, I was just scrolling, you know, mindlessly through the internet, and I stumbled upon some old pictures of Raven Symone. And man, it hit me – she’s had some seriously iconic hairstyles over the years! From her Disney days to now, she’s never been afraid to switch it up. So, this little lightbulb went off in my head: why not try to recreate a couple of them myself? Just for kicks, you know?

My Grand Plan (Sort Of)

First things first, I had to decide which looks to even attempt. That was a whole mission in itself! I spent a good hour just looking at different styles. I wanted to pick things that seemed, well, doable with my own hair and the limited skills I possess. I wasn’t about to attempt some intricate braided masterpiece that would take a professional stylist hours.

I settled on two:

  • A sleek, short bob she rocked for a while. Seemed classy and manageable.
  • And then, something a bit more fun – remember those chunky, colorful highlights she sometimes had? I figured I could try a temporary version of that.

Attempt Number One: The Bob Life

So, I started with the bob. My hair is kinda medium length, so I knew I wouldn’t get it super short without scissors, and I wasn’t brave enough for that commitment. My goal was more to get that sleek, tucked-under vibe. I washed my hair, loaded it up with heat protectant – safety first, people! – and got out my trusty straighteners and a round brush.

This took longer than I thought. My hair, it has a mind of its own. It wanted to flip out, not in. Patience, I told myself, patience. After a bit of a battle, section by section, I got it looking somewhat bob-like. It wasn’t exactly Raven-level perfection, but hey, for a home job, I was pretty pleased! I did a little twirl in the mirror, feeling quite sophisticated for about five minutes.

Attempt Number Two: Color Catastrophe (Almost)

Next up, the colorful highlights. Now, I wasn’t about to bleach my hair or anything permanent. No way. I went to the store and got some of that temporary hair color spray – you know, the kind that washes out. I picked a vibrant blue and a pink.

Okay, this is where things got a bit messy. I sectioned off some strands, thinking I’d be all precise. Sprayed the blue. It went… everywhere. On my forehead, on my t-shirt (should’ve worn an old one, rookie mistake), and the bathroom counter started looking like a Smurf had exploded.

The pink was a similar story. I was aiming for distinct, chunky highlights. What I got was more of a muddled, slightly damp, vaguely colorful patch on one side of my head. My husband walked in and just raised an eyebrow. I think “experimental” was the kindest word he could muster. I looked less like Raven and more like I’d had an unfortunate run-in with some art supplies.

It also made my hair feel super stiff and weird. Definitely not the soft, cool look Raven managed to pull off. Hers probably involved actual dye and a professional who knew what they were doing, not just me winging it with a spray can in my bathroom.

What I Figured Out

This whole little experiment was pretty fun, not gonna lie. It was a good laugh, especially the color part. But it really makes you appreciate the effort and skill that goes into celebrity looks. It’s not just “oh, I woke up like this.” There are teams, good products, and probably a lot of time involved.

Also, hair texture and type make a HUGE difference. What looks amazing on Raven, with her hair type, might look completely different on someone else, like me. That was a big takeaway.

So yeah, my Raven Symone hairstyle journey was a bit of a mixed bag. The bob was a decent success, the color, well, it was an experience! It reminded me of when I tried to cut my own bangs in middle school – seemed like a good idea at the time, but the execution was… memorable, for all the wrong reasons. But hey, at least this colorful mess washed out easily enough. Mostly.

Would I do it again? Maybe if I’m really bored. But I think I’ll stick to admiring Raven’s styles from afar for a while. And maybe invest in a better shower cap for any future color experiments. For now, it’s back to my usual, much less adventurous hairdo!
