Okay, so I’ve been seeing Billie Eilish everywhere, right? Like, her music’s on repeat, and her style is just… different. You know, the baggy clothes phase, and now whatever new vibe she’s got going on. She just has this whole unique thing.
Getting Curious
Anyway, the other day, I was just scrolling, probably procrastinating on doing actual work, and I saw this close-up picture of her. And I thought, huh, her eyes are pretty unique. Not your typical big, round pop star eyes. They have this specific shape, kind of sleepy or sultry, depending on the makeup, I guess.
So, naturally, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. I wasn’t trying to like, be her or anything, just genuinely curious about the shape itself. It’s kinda downturned but also hooded? It’s hard to pinpoint exactly just from casually looking.
My Little Experiment
I decided to try and figure it out by, you know, looking really closely. Pulled up a bunch of photos – red carpet looks, candid shots, music video stills. It’s funny how different lighting and makeup change things so much on a person’s face.
Here’s what I kinda noticed during my deep dive:
- The outer corners seem to point downwards a bit. Gives that kinda soulful, maybe a little sad look sometimes, but cool sad, you know? Not overly dramatic, just there.
- There’s definitely some hooding going on, where the skin from the brow bone covers some of the eyelid space. I think lots of people have this but maybe not exactly like hers.
- She (or her makeup artist) often uses eyeliner to kinda flick it upwards, maybe to counteract the downturn? Or sometimes they just lean into it and emphasize the shape.
I even grabbed an eyeliner pencil – one I haven’t used since that one weird party last year where everything went sideways – and tried to mimic the sort of liner looks she sometimes does on my own eyes. Just messing around in the bathroom mirror, you know? Seeing if I could capture that specific vibe.
The Result? Well…
Let’s just say replicating it wasn’t straightforward at all. My eye shape is totally different, more almond, I guess? Trying to get that specific downturned-yet-lifted-with-liner effect? Yeah, tricky stuff. It either looked like I smudged my eyeliner badly or like I hadn’t slept in days. Not quite the cool Billie vibe I was observing on her.
It made me appreciate how makeup artists really work with unique features, though. Instead of trying to make everyone look the same standard way, they enhance what’s already there. Her eye shape is super distinctive, and honestly, it’s a big part of her whole look. It’s cool how features like that stand out and become part of a signature style.
So yeah, that was my little investigation. Didn’t become a makeup expert overnight, obviously. But it was interesting just paying attention to something specific like that for a bit. Makes you look at faces differently, notice the little things that make everyone unique.
