So, I finally got my hands on a pair of those Human Race shoes everyone was talking about a while back. Took me a bit, wasn’t exactly a walk in the park to find the colorway I wanted at a price that didn’t make my eyes water.

Getting Them Was a Thing

Honestly, the hype was real, and so was the struggle. I spent a good few weeks checking different sites, even looked at resale places, but you know how that goes. Prices all over the map. Finally snagged a pair, felt like I’d won a minor lottery. They arrived in a pretty standard box, nothing too fancy, which was fine by me. Less fuss the better sometimes.

First Impressions

Pulling them out, yeah, they looked cool. The design is definitely unique, stands out. The colors were just as bright as I saw online. First thing I did was check the feel. The material felt decent, kinda sturdy but also flexible. The whole cage thing on the side was interesting, different from my usual sneakers.

Putting Them On

Okay, getting them on my feet. They felt snug, maybe a little tighter than I expected around the midfoot because of that lacing system and the cage structure. The sole felt bouncy, though. That Boost material, I guess. Walked around the house a bit. Felt pretty good, comfortable cushioning underfoot, definitely noticed that straight away.

Wearing Them Out

Took them out for a proper walk the next day. They’re comfortable for sure, especially for just casual wear, walking around town. Didn’t try running in them or anything, they don’t really feel like performance shoes to me, more like a lifestyle thing. They definitely get looks, had a couple of people ask about them. The bright colors probably help with that.

After wearing them for a few months now, here’s the real deal:

  • Comfort: Still comfortable for walking. The Boost sole holds up well. Good for a day out.
  • Style: They still look good. The design hasn’t gotten old for me, and they add a pop to simple outfits.
  • Durability: Holding up okay. The knit upper part gets dirty kinda easily, especially lighter colors, so gotta be a bit careful or ready to clean them often. The sole is pretty solid though.
  • Fit: They loosened up just a tiny bit, fit my foot better now than when brand new. Still snug, but in a good way.

Final Thoughts

So, were they worth the hassle and the price? Yeah, I’d say so. I like ’em. They’re comfy, they look cool, and they feel well-made enough. Not sure I’d go through the same trouble for another pair unless a colorway really grabbed me, but happy with the ones I got. They’re a solid pair of sneakers if you like the style and find them for a decent price. Just keep a cleaning kit handy.
