Alright, y’all, let’s talk about this Tupac fella. Is he alive or not in 2023? That’s what everyone keeps askin’, like I got all the answers. I ain’t no fancy detective, just an old woman who’s heard a thing or two.
Tupac Shakur, they called him. Big rapper, or so they say. I don’t listen to that stuff myself, too much noise for my old ears. But even I heard about him gettin’ shot way back when. Vegas, they said. Stopped at a red light, and bam! Just like that. Poor fella.
- They said he died in the hospital a few days later, September 13, 1996, to be exact.
- His mama, she spread his ashes around, some in Los Angeles, some in her own garden. That’s what they tell ya, anyways.
Now, here’s the thing. Some folks, they just can’t let it go. They say he faked his death. Can you believe that? Like fakin’ death is as easy as pie. I tell ya, these youngsters and their wild ideas!
For 27 years, people been talkin’. Whisperin’ in corners, makin’ up stories. Sayin’ he’s hidin’ out somewhere, livin’ the good life. But I say, if he was alive, wouldn’t he have shown his face by now? Wouldn’t his mama have said somethin’? She loved that boy, that much is true.
And this new arrest they’re talkin’ about? Hmph, after all these years? Sounds fishy to me. They say they’re lookin’ for the killer, but maybe they’re just tryin’ to shut folks up. Stop the rumors, you know?
I read somewhere, or maybe someone told me, that Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa, she’s happy about the arrest, but she’s waitin’ for all the facts to come out. Smart girl, that one. Don’t go jumpin’ to conclusions like some folks.
But these fans, they keep sayin’ his lyrics, written years ago, prove he’s still around. I don’t get it. Lyrics are just words, ain’t they? They don’t mean he’s alive and kickin’. It’s like readin’ a book and thinkin’ the characters are real people.
And let me tell you, fakin’ your own death? That ain’t no easy thing. You gotta disappear completely, change your name, your looks, everything. And for what? To live in the shadows? That don’t sound like no life to me.
