Things to do on Kiawah: The Ultimate Island Fun Guide!

Okay, so I decided to map out a full day on Kiawah Island. Here’s how it went down.

Things to do on Kiawah: The Ultimate Island Fun Guide!

Morning Start – Beach Time!

First things first, I hit the beach. I mean, that’s the main reason you go to Kiawah, right? I packed a bag with a towel, some sunscreen (gotta be careful!), a book, and a big bottle of water. I got there pretty early, around 8 am, to snag a good spot and enjoy the peace before it got too crowded.

I spent a solid couple of hours just chilling. I walked along the shoreline, picked up some cool shells, and took a dip in the ocean. The water was perfect – not too cold, not too warm. I even saw some dolphins playing in the distance, which was awesome!

Mid-day Grub and Exploration

After the beach, I was starving. I headed over to one of the local spots. It was a casual place, and i grabbed a simple fish sandwich. It hitted the spot!

With my belly full, I decided to explore a bit. I rented a bike – super easy to do on the island – and cruised along the paved trails. I passed by some beautiful marshes and saw tons of birds. Kiawah is known for its nature, and it really shows. They’ve done a great job of keeping things natural.

  • Tip: Renting a bike is the way to go for exploring.
  • Tip: keep hydrated all day, especially if you doing a lot of activities.

Afternoon Activity – Kayak Adventure

In the afternoon, I wanted to do something a little more active, I signed up for a guided kayak tour. I’ve kayaked before, but it’s always cool to have a guide who knows the area.

We paddled through the calm waterways, and the guide pointed out all sorts of wildlife – different kinds of birds, crabs, and even some alligators sunbathing on the banks (from a safe distance, of course!). It was super relaxing and a great way to see a different side of the island.

Evening Wind-Down – Dinner with a View

Finally, to wrap up the day, I treated myself to a nice dinner at one of the restaurants. I made a reservation. I sat outside, enjoyed the sunset, and reflected on a pretty perfect day.

That was my Kiawah day! I did a lot, but it didn’t feel rushed. It was a good mix of relaxing, exploring, and just enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
