Planning a St Tropez Trip? Check the St Tropez Time!

Okay, so I was messing around with this “St Tropez” self-tanner, and let me tell you, it was an experience. I’ve always been a bit scared of self-tanners, picturing myself turning orange and streaky. But summer’s almost here, and my skin is still rocking that winter pale, so I figured, why not? It is called “st tropez time”, I have to record what I did.

First, I exfoliated like crazy in the shower. I used a scrubby mitt and some body scrub and went to town on my knees, elbows, and ankles – basically anywhere that tanner tends to grab on and look dark. I even shaved my legs, which is a big deal because, let’s be honest, sometimes I skip that step.

Prepping Time

  • Scrub-a-dub-dub! Exfoliated every inch.
  • Shaved my legs (victory!).
  • Moisturized the dry bits – knees, elbows, ankles. Super important!

After drying off, I put on some lotion on those same dry areas. I read online that this helps prevent the tanner from getting too dark in those spots. Makes sense, right?

Then came the scary part – applying the tanner. I used a tanning mitt, thank goodness, because I can’t imagine trying to do this with just my hands. That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I started with my legs, working my way up in long, sweeping motions. It was kind of like painting, but on my body. A weird, slightly smelly painting.

I tried to be super careful, blending it in really well, especially around my ankles and knees. I even got my boyfriend to help me with my back because, well, I can’t reach. Teamwork makes the dream tan work, I guess.

The Wait

The bottle said to wait a few hours for the color to develop, so I just hung out in my robe, trying not to touch anything. I felt like a sticky, slightly bronzed statue. The waiting is so boring, you have no idea!

The Results

After a few hours, I hopped back in the shower to rinse off the excess. And…I was actually pretty impressed! No streaks, no orange-ness. I had a nice, natural-looking glow. I’m not going to lie, I felt pretty good about myself. Like I’d just spent a week on a tropical vacation, but without the sunburn or the sand in my shoes.

So, “St Tropez time” was a success! I might actually be a self-tanning convert. Will I do it again? Probably. Will I still be slightly terrified every time? Definitely. But hey, at least I won’t be blinding anyone with my pale legs this summer.
