So, I’ve been on this kick lately trying out different colognes, and I stumbled upon this brand called St. Johns Fragrance. I thought, “Hey, why not give it a shot?” So, I started by poking around online to see what they had.
I browsed their website. Looked pretty basic, but I saw the different scents they offered. I didn’t want to just pick one randomly, so I looked for some reviews.
Finding the Right One
I spent maybe an hour just reading what other people said about the different colognes. Some were too strong, some too weak, it was a whole mix. I finally narrowed it down to two that sounded like they might work for me: “Bay Rum” and “Vetiver.”
- Bay Rum: People said it was classic, spicy, and kind of old-school.
- Vetiver: This one was described as more earthy and woody.
I decided to go with both, since I’d get free shipping over a certain price. Gotta save some money, right?
The Waiting Game
I placed my order and then… I waited. It felt like forever, but it was probably just a week or so. Finally, the package arrived!
First Impressions
I opened the box, and the bottles looked pretty cool, kind of vintage. I sprayed a little of the Bay Rum on my wrist first. Whoa, it was strong! Definitely spicy, like the reviews said. After a bit, it settled down, and I actually liked it. It felt… manly, I guess?
Then I tried the Vetiver. This one was a lot more subtle, but in a good way. It smelled like fresh cut grass and a little bit like dirt, but in a clean way, if that makes sense. I ended up wearing this one to work the next day.
The Verdict?
I got a couple of compliments on the Vetiver, so that’s a win. I think I’ll use the Bay Rum more for going out at night, and the Vetiver for everyday stuff. Overall, I’m pretty happy I tried these out. It’s always fun to switch things up!
