Felicity Jones + Dolce & Gabbana: A Fashion Match?

Alright, so I saw this picture of Felicity Jones in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana dress, and I just had to try and recreate the look. You know, for science… and fashion.

Felicity Jones + Dolce & Gabbana: A Fashion Match?

The Hunt Begins

First things first, I needed to find that dress, or at least something similar. I spent a good hour scrolling through online stores. No luck finding the exact one – probably a custom job, right?

  • Searched “Felicity Jones Dolce & Gabbana dress” on every search engine I could think of.
  • Scoured online shops, consignment stores, you name it. Nada.

So, plan B: find something with a similar vibe. I focused on the key elements: floral print, a fitted bodice, and a flowy skirt. I eventually found a few contenders, but nothing that screamed “Felicity.”

The DIY Route

Okay, time to get crafty. I decided I was going to have to make some alterations. I grabbed a simple black dress I already owned – it had the right shape, just needed some… pizzazz.

I then headed to the fabric store. I looked for floral appliqués, lace, anything that could give it that Dolce & Gabbana feel. I picked up some gorgeous embroidered flowers and some delicate black lace trim.

  • Spent ages in the fabric store, comparing different flowers.
  • Bought way more than I needed, just in case. You never know!

Back home, I laid everything out. I started by carefully pinning the flowers onto the bodice of the dress, trying to mimic the placement on Felicity’s dress. Then, I added the lace trim to the hemline for a touch of elegance.

Sewing (and Praying)

This is where things got a little tricky. I’m no seamstress, but I managed to hand-sew the appliqués onto the dress. It took forever, and my fingers were definitely feeling it, but I was determined to make it work.

  • Pricked my finger more times than I can count.
  • Had to redo a few flowers because they looked wonky.
  • Watched way too much YouTube videos for the hand-sew.

Slowly but surely, the dress started to take shape. The flowers added that pop of color and texture, and the lace trim gave it a more polished look.

The Final Result

Okay, so it’s not exactly like Felicity’s dress, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It definitely has that romantic, Dolce & Gabbana-inspired vibe. And hey, I made it myself! That’s gotta count for something, right?

Next time,I will keep looking for the orginal.
