Okay, so I wanted to make some cool graphics for my online store, and I needed some pictures of light brown sneakers, but like, with no background, so I could put them on any color I wanted. You know, transparent background stuff. So, I started digging around.
Finding the Right Images
First, I just did a simple search for “light brown sneakers”. I found a ton of pictures, but most of them had, like, white backgrounds, or were on someone’s feet, or whatever. Not what I needed.
Then I got a little smarter and started searching for “light brown sneakers transparent background”. Boom! More of what I was looking for, but still a lot of junk to sift through. I even added “clipart” to the search, figuring that might give me simpler images.
Getting Rid of the Background
I found a few images that were almost right. They were the right color, the right style, but still had some background stuff. So, time to roll up my sleeves and do some editing.
I’m no Photoshop wizard, I needed something simple.
I opened up the image, and honestly, it was pretty straightforward. I just used the magic wand tool to select the background, and then… delete! Poof! Gone. It took a little bit of tweaking, especially around the laces and the edges of the shoe, but it worked! Sometimes I had to zoom in super close to get those little bits of background that were hiding.
Saving My Work
Once I was happy with the background (or lack thereof!), I saved the image. Now this is important: you gotta save it as a PNG file. That’s the file type that keeps the transparency. If you save it as a JPEG, you’ll just get a white background again. Been there, done that, not fun.
- First Try: Find a picture that is almost right..
- Second Try: upload and edit to remove the background.
- Third Try: Saved as PNG to make sure background is transparent.
So yeah, that’s how I got my transparent background light brown sneaker clipart. It wasn’t super complicated, took a little bit of searching and some basic editing, but I got there in the end! Now my website is going to look awesome.
