Born to Shine Book: Easy Guide to Finding Your Life Purpose

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into this “Born to Shine” book thing for a while now. Everyone’s been talking about how it helps you find your, like, inner sparkle and stuff. I finally decided to give it a shot. I mean, who doesn’t want to shine, right?

First, I grabbed the book. It’s got this really bright, colorful cover. It’s pretty! I flipped through the pages, kinda skimming, to get a feel for what it was all about. It seemed to be all about exercises and prompts to help you figure out your passions and talents.

Getting Started: Digging Deep

I started with the first chapter, which was all about reflecting on your past experiences. There were these questions like, “What activities made you feel truly alive as a child?” and “What are you naturally good at?”. Stuff like that, you know?

I grabbed a notebook and a pen – I like writing things down, it helps me think. I spent a good hour just jotting down memories. It was kinda weird at first, thinking back to when I was a kid. I realized I used to love drawing and making up stories. I totally forgot about that!

  • Childhood passions: Drawing, storytelling, playing pretend.
  • Natural talents: (Still figuring this out…) Being creative, maybe? I’m also pretty good at organizing things.

Then I moved on to the next chapter, which was about identifying your values. This was tougher. What do I even value? The book had a big list – things like creativity, kindness, adventure, security. I circled the ones that resonated with me, then tried to narrow it down to my top five. That was hard!

It is all that I did yesterday. I think I need more days to finish it.

I’m still in the early stages, but it’s already making me think. I realized I’ve been kind of coasting along, not really paying attention to what I truly enjoy. This book is like a little wake-up call. I’m actually kind of excited to see what else I uncover. It’s like a treasure hunt, but the treasure is, like, me. Cheesy, I know, but kinda true!
