Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “jersey with skirt” trend everywhere, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I wasn’t sure if it was really me, you know? But I’m always up for trying something new, especially if it looks cute and comfy.

The Hunt for the Perfect Pieces
First things first, I needed the right jersey. I didn’t want anything too tight or too sporty-looking. I rummaged through my closet and found this oversized, vintage-style basketball jersey I’d thrifted a while back. It’s got that perfect worn-in look, and the colors are pretty neutral, so I figured it would be versatile.
Next up, the skirt. This was trickier. I tried on a few different options:
- Mini Skirt: This looked okay, but it felt a little too casual, almost like I was trying too hard to be trendy.
- Midi Skirt: This was better! I had a pleated midi skirt in a similar color to one of the stripes on the jersey, and it created a nice flowy silhouette.
- Denim Skirt: A classic, right? But with the jersey, it just felt a little…blah. Too much of a contrast, maybe?
The pleated midi skirt was the winner! It felt the most “me” while still being on-trend.
Putting It All Together
So, jersey and skirt chosen, it was time to assemble the outfit. I tucked the front of the jersey into the skirt, just a little bit, to define my waist. I didn’t want it to look too bulky, so I played around with it until it looked just right – a little bit of a “French tuck,” I guess.
For shoes, I considered sneakers, of course, but I wanted to elevate the look a bit. I ended up going with some chunky white ankle boots. They added a bit of edge and made the whole outfit feel more intentional.
The Finishing Touches
Accessories! I kept it pretty simple. A delicate gold necklace, some small hoop earrings, and my everyday rings. I didn’t want anything to compete with the jersey too much.
I grabbed a small crossbody bag that matched the color, and that’s all.
The Verdict
Honestly, I was surprised by how much I loved this outfit! It felt comfortable, stylish, and just a little bit different from my usual style. I wore it out to grab coffee with a friend, and I got a couple of compliments, which is always a nice bonus. I’ll definitely be wearing this combo again – maybe with different skirts and jerseys to switch things up. It’s surprisingly versatile!
It is my style now!
