Find Your Perfect Coach Denim Bag: Ultimate Guide & Tips!

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to customize my plain old Coach denim bag for a while now. It’s a great, sturdy bag, but a little… boring. I finally decided to take the plunge and do something about it! Here’s how it went down:

Find Your Perfect Coach Denim Bag: Ultimate Guide & Tips!

Gathering My Supplies

First, I needed to figure out what I wanted to do. I spent a good hour just scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram, getting inspiration. I knew I wanted something unique, but not too over-the-top. Finally I decided to some embroidery and add some patches.

I hit up my local craft store. Here’s what I grabbed:

  • Embroidery floss: I picked a few colors that I thought would pop against the denim.
  • Embroidery needles: Gotta have the right tools, right?
  • Patches: I found some cute, quirky ones that matched my style.
  • Fabric glue: Just in case I needed extra hold for the patches.
  • Scissors:For cutting threads.
  • A hoop: To keep the fabric taut while embroidering.

The Embroidery Process

I started with the embroidery. I’m no expert, but I know a few basic stitches. I decided on a simple floral design near the bottom corner of the bag.

I put the denim in my hoop to keep it from, and started * took a while, and honestly, my fingers were a little sore by the end, but it was worth it! The flowers added a nice, personal touch.

Adding the Patches

Next up, the patches. I laid them out on the bag first, arranging them until I was happy with the placement. I decided to sew the small patches.

Sewing them on took some time, too, but I felt it would be more secure than just using glue. I used a simple running stitch around the edges of each patch.

The Final Result

After a few hours of work, I was finally done! I’m so happy with how it turned out. The Coach bag looks completely different – way more “me.” It’s still the same practical, everyday bag, but now it has a personality!

It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few wonky stitches here and there, but I think that adds to the charm. It’s handmade, and it shows. I’ve already gotten a few compliments on it, which is always a nice bonus. If you’re thinking about customizing your own bag, I say go for it! It’s a fun, rewarding project.
