I remember a while back, I was watching this show, “Elementary,” and there’s this dude, Jonny, who’s a marathon runner. He’s got this 26.2 tattoo on his back, and I thought, “Hey, that’s pretty cool, I wanna get one too!”

So, first things first, I started hitting the pavement. Running became my thing, my daily grind. I started with short distances, you know, just around the block. Gradually, I pushed myself further and further.
- First few weeks, it was just a couple of miles a day.
- Then, I started doing 5Ks, then 10Ks.
- Eventually, I signed up for a half-marathon—13.1 miles. Man, that was tough, but I finished it!
After conquering the half, I set my sights on the big one—the full marathon. 26.2 miles. I trained like crazy, following a strict regimen. Long runs on weekends, speed work during the week, you name it.
Finally, the day of the marathon arrived. I was nervous but excited. The first half was okay, but then came the infamous “wall” around mile 20. My legs were screaming, my lungs were burning, but I kept pushing. I thought about that tattoo, about all the hard work I’d put in. And you know what? I made it! I crossed that finish line, 26.2 miles done.
Right after that, I went and got that tattoo. 26.2 on my back, just like Jonny. It’s not just a number; it’s a symbol of all those miles, all that sweat, all that determination. Every time I look at it, it reminds me that I can do anything I set my mind to. Plus, I added a little one-star next to it, reminds me of hope.
Oh, and for those who don’t know. A marathon is 26.2 miles. It is a really long distance that takes a long time for preparation. You know what I mean, I practiced a lot.
It was really a tough experience for me. But I am so proud of myself that I made it! If you have the chance to challenge yourself, go for it! You will never regret it!
