Okay, here’s my blog post about recreating outfits from 2010s TV shows:

2010s TV Show Outfit Inspiration: Get the Look!

So, I’ve been on this total nostalgia kick lately, rewatching some of my favorite shows from the 2010s. And, you know, besides the storylines, I got super into the fashion. I mean, who didn’t want to dress like Serena van der Woodsen or have Aria Montgomery’s quirky style? So I thought, “Why not try to recreate some of these iconic looks?”

The Mission Begins

First, I picked a few shows I wanted to focus on: Gossip Girl (obviously), Pretty Little Liars, and maybe a little bit of Glee. I wanted a mix of styles, you know? Glam, edgy, and a touch of preppy.

Then came the real work: scouring the internet for screenshots. I spent hours on Pinterest and fan blogs, zooming in on every detail. It was like a fashion detective mission! I needed to figure out what brands they were wearing, or at least find similar pieces.

The Hunt

Next up, the shopping! This was a mix of online browsing and hitting up some thrift stores. I wasn’t trying to break the bank, so I looked for affordable alternatives. Think ASOS, Zara, even places like Poshmark and Depop for those harder-to-find items.

  • For Serena’s Upper East Side chic, I scored a great blazer at a consignment shop and paired it with a simple silk top and skinny jeans. I already had some killer heels, so that was easy!
  • Aria’s style was a bit more challenging. It’s all about layering and mixing patterns. I found a funky printed skirt at a vintage store and added a leather jacket and some chunky boots. The key was to not be afraid to clash!
  • For a touch of Rachel Berry preppy, I grabbed a simple A-line skirt and a cardigan. It was all about finding the right colors and accessories, like a cute headband or some knee-high socks.

Putting It All Together

The final step was actually trying on the outfits and seeing how they looked. Some were surprisingly easy to pull off, while others needed a little tweaking. I definitely learned that confidence is key! Even if it’s not a perfect replica, it’s all about capturing the vibe of the character.

It was a fun little project, and it definitely satisfied my nostalgia craving. Plus, I ended up with some cute new outfits for my own wardrobe! Would I do it again? Absolutely! Maybe 90s TV fashion next time…
